We offer the complete range of plastering products and services, from extensions to commercial developments. We offer a personal touch on all our jobs and can supply a site supervisor, fully trained in health and safety, on bigger projects. We strive to keep our standards high, while providing the most cost-effective job.

Some of the specialist services we offer include:

Skimming

Knight & Riddell carry out a wide variety of skimming on commercial and domestic projects. We can apply multi finish, thistle one coat or any other plaster to a wide range of backgrounds.

Float & Set

On some projects, plasterboard isn’t an option so Knight & Riddell provide skilled operatives to apply a backing coat plaster and skim. This can be hard wall, sand and cement, or a tough coat finish.

This is generally harder wearing than plasterboard and skim. Our experts can hand or machine apply these products.

Dry Lining

A “green” alternative to traditional wet plastering, dry lining with plasterboard is the answer for new builds, extensions and loft conversions requiring insulation along with aesthetic appeal.We specialise in mechanically flicked board (tacking) and dot and dab to all backgrounds. We can use acoustic, insulated, moisture and fire-resistant board to create the perfect finish.

Screeding

We supply flow screed, traditional screed and various specialised screeds for quick drying times or damp.

Our screeds are premixed and delivered direct from plant to guarantee our high standards.

External Rendering

External render is a popular option for brightening up a building, protecting it from weathering and adding a layer of insulation. Knight & Riddell can help you choose the right render, including through-coloured render or pebble dashing, to suit your budget and property, and apply it professionally with the minimum of fuss and bother.

We can supply a wide range of finishes, from a scrapped finish to a roughcast finish using k-rend, Weber or Parex. This is perfect for new projects or to refurbish the exterior of a property. We also apply thin coat systems to external insulation.

Knight & Riddell are also experts in more traditional sand, cement and lime renders including spa/pebble dash, and can hand apply or machine spray these products.

Lime Plastering

We have over 25 years’ experience in dealing with traditional lime render products. We use lathe and plaster, lime with horse hair, lime putty and lime skim coat.

We will take on small lime jobs to church refurbishments. We undertake internal and external lime projects.

Suspended Ceilings & Metal Stud Partitions

Knight & Riddell have specialists available who are experienced at designing and installing suspended ceilings and fitting metal stud partitions for all sorts of interiors, both residential and commercial. Suspended ceilings can be installed as MF grid ceilings and finished with an acoustic or fire-resistant product.

We supply the right materials for the job, resulting in clean lines and excellent acoustics, ventilation and insulation.
